How it all began
Suparna and Amit started working as Telemedicine physicians at UPMC during COVID. Although they continued to exchange emails regarding patients to each other weekly, they never met in person. One day, Suparna’s work profile picture on Microsoft Teams caught Amit’s eye, but thinking that she’s a colleague, he remained professional and decided not to venture further.
around September, 2024 Amit (against his better judgement) started to slide into her teams messages. He usually kept the conversations pertaining to patients while persistently wanting to learn more about her. He asked around the hospital regarding Dr. Saha and the usual answer he received was “ Oh, she’s a typical New Yorker.”
A random day in January, Amit texted yet again regarding patients and Suparna asked if he was Bengali, to which the reply was obviously yes. And once Amit and Suparna realized they were both single, a casual conversation turned into endless laughter regarding stories of how their parents have been trying to get them married.
The two soon found out they had been living 30 minutes away from each other for the last 5 years before Suparna moved out of Buffalo, NY in 2024.
Chapter 1: Microsoft Teams

A day didn’t go by where Amit and Suparna didn’t text each other from morning till night since they exchanged numbers. They talked about their childhood, family values, hopes and dreams, and everything else under the sun. They bonded over their love of the Buffalo Bills and amusement parks.
Then one day, Amit was driving home after a long day at the hospital, and Suparna just called out of the blue. Amit never wanted that conversation to end, even after he arrived home, he kept talking to her. He finally knew he could talk to her about anything. And then he finally confessed that he had a crush on her. Well by now, it was more than just a crush.
Chapter 2: Call me maybe?
After 6 weeks of talking, Amit and Suparna’s first date was enough to seal the deal. Amit mentioned going to a talk show taping and luckily enough, Suparna scored tickets to a Seth Myers taping which coincidentally turned out to be Amit’s favorite talk show.
They both knew this was it. And the rest is history, as they say…
